    To obtain your filing notice, you must appear before your county clerk to file your notary bond and take the oath of office. Scan your filing notice and save it as a PDF file. You will need to upload it when completing the renewal application for appointment on the Nevada Secretary of State’s website.

  3. Complete the notary training course and pass the notary exam.

    All Nevada notaries who would like to renew their notary appointments must retake the Notary Public Training Course and pass the Notary Public Exam before submitting an application for reappointment. Save your training certificate as a PDF file. You will need to upload it when completing the renewal application for appointment on the Nevada Secretary of State’s website.

  4. Complete a renewal notary application.

    All renewing Nevada notary applicants must complete an application for reappointment on the Nevada Secretary of State’s business portal (SilverFlume). Print and sign the notary application and save it as a PDF file. You will be asked to upload it during the application process.

  5. Upload the required documents.

    Return to your account on the secretary of state’s website to upload the filing notice, training certificate, and signed notary application. You will also need to pay the $35 application fee and the $45 training course fee. Processing time for renewal applications is usually eight weeks. Once approved, you will receive your certificate of appointment from the Nevada Secretary of State.
