To become a notary in Nevada, follow the steps listed below:

Purchase a four-year, $10,000 notary bond.
The bond is required by the secretary of state to protect the public from unintentional notary’s errors. Click here to order your Nevada notary bond.

Obtain a filing notice from the county clerk.
Take the oath of office in the presence of the county clerk of the county in which you reside and file your notary bond to obtain a filing notice.

Complete the notary training and pass the exam.
All notary applicants must enroll in the State of Nevada’s Notary Public Course and pass the State of Nevada Notary Public Exam to be eligible to apply to become a notary public. If you fail the exam, you will need to wait 24 hours before making another attempt. Click here to enroll.

Complete a Nevada notary application on the state’s website.
